Recommended Swagman Bike Rack for E-Bikes with Easy Bike Loading
Question:
I saw a Swagman bike rack on a car yesterday. It was very low to the ground-unlike our Kuat and Thule. We carry two e-bikes totaling 70lbs. Do you have any thoughts as to what rack we saw? We are interested. Thanks,

I have attached a list for you below with all of our Swagman platform style bikes racks. If you have e-bikes, the two options you should be considering are the Swagman Current Bike Rack part # S64678 and Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack part # S94FR. The Current has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity and the E-Spec has a 70 lb per bike weight capacity. The Current is compatible with both 1-1/4" and 2" receivers whereas the E-Spec is only compatible with 2" receivers.
In regards to the tray height, the less this is the easier it will be to load the bikes but this also means the less ground clearance you'll have so it's always a trade-off. The ground clearance usually wins this fight as it can cause a rack to not work entirely as opposed to being harder to load bikes onto. Thankfully, you can use a ramp with either of these racks to help with loading, the Swagman Ramp and Bridge for Swagman Current, E-Spec, and G10 Bike Racks part # S32YR.
