Recommended Gooseneck Trailer Hitch For A 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 With OEM Prep Package
Question:
I am interested in installing a gooseneck trailer hitch onto my 2023 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed. My truck has the OEM prep package. Which one would you recommend?

When installing a gooseneck trailer hitch onto your 2023 GMC Sierra 2500, I recommend the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit # C60692. All the kits are very similar when they come to gross towing weight being 30,000 pounds. I like the Curt Gooseneck over the rest though because when the gooseneck hitch is not in use you have a nice a storage case that comes included that will keep the ball, safety chain loops, and the rubber cover in good condition when not in use. The Curt's pop-in ball fits securely into the gooseneck receiver and is easy to insert and remove when needed.
To make your set-up even easier I recommend the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # 50-97-410. Using this T-Connector will connect with your factory 7-pole at the bumper to make a new 7-pole in your truck bed, making hooking up to your gooseneck trailer a breeze. You will still retain use of your 7-way connector at the bumper as well.
I linked two installation videos below. One on the Curt Gooseneck hitch being installed onto a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500, and the other being the Bargam harness being installed onto a 2021 GMC Sierra 2500. Both installations will be the same for your 2023 GMC Sierra 2500. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I will be more than happy to further assist you in your towing endeavors.
