Recommendations For Increasing Fender Clearance With Larger Tires On a Single Axle Boat Trailer

Question:

I had to purchase new tires for my boat trailer. Since ST155/80R13s are no longer made I had to buy ST175/80R13s. Now the tires rub on the plastic fender and there is little to no clearance on the front metal bracket. Any suggestions?

The simplest option would be to install the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit # LC87120 on your trailer. This will allow you to raise the trailer frame from the axle 1-1/4" or 2-1/4". It will also allow you to shift the axle so it is centered on your fender rather than being so close to the frame bracket on the front of your fender.

Otherwise you will need to cut off the welded brackets you have on your trailer for lager Fenders # CE19503-2 and have the brackets welded back on in the correct position.
