Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For Carrying a Dirt Bike With a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X
Question:
Hello, I have a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X with no factory towing installed. I would like to carry a 250lb dirt bike with a hitch mounted carrier. What is the best, and strongest, option to accomplish this?

If your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X has the removable rear fascia for a factory receiver you will want to go with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT38MR. This is the strongest receiver the Grand Cherokee as it is rated to support up to 900lbs. If you do not have this removable fascia I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98901. This receiver is rated to support up to 600lbs of tongue weight and with its matte black finish you will have a factory appearance.
I recommend the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier w/ Ramp # e98873 for carrying your dirt bike. This is a steel carrier capable of supporting up to 500lbs with a weight of only 58lbs for the carrier. The ShockStraps # 297-7RSBB-M will allow you to secure your bike to the rack. These straps have shock absorbers to help reduce stress on your dirt bike suspension.
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118727 will provide you with a 4-way flat connector. This connector will allow you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 with the carrier. These are needed if your dirt bike impairs the view of the tail lights on your Grand Cherokee. It will also allow you to connect to the tail lights on most small trailers if you need to tow.
