The best hitch for your 2023 Volkswagen Atlas is going to be the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C24ER. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your VW with included hardware.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C24ER is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It is made in the USA and weighs 51 lbs. It has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 900 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I have linked a picture below along with an installation video so you can see what this hitch looks like when installed.
If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C67WR and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
This hitch and wiring harness only fits the Atlas model, not the Atlas Cross Sport.
