How to Determine if Carpod Cargo Carrier Will Block Brake Lights

Question:

Hello. I am interested in getting a M2205-2201 for my 2023 Crosstrek. I like how it sits higher than a normal Carpod because I have a really, really steep incline to the hunting cabin. My concern is whether or not the carpod 23x47 will block the rear turn signals/brake lights. I do not plan to load it higher than the walls on the sides.

It won't block them fully, but will partially. You can pretty easily do some measuring to find out though specifically how much though, as the overall length from outside to outside is 48-3/4" long for the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier w/ Lid # M2205-2201.

So you can just measure from the middle of your hitch over 24-3/8" to either side, and that's how much the # M2205-2201. Your 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is a total of 71" wide (without the mirrors) so lights will still be visible, but likely not fully. If you want, you can also add lights (which would plug into a 4-way), the Light Kit # 20174.

The Carpod can also be locked with Padlock # 131D, and I do recommend the Yakima PlateMate License Plate Holder # Y02713. Technically it's for bike racks but will work great with the Carpod. Finally, to attach the carrier to your hitch you'll need the Anti-Rattle Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232.
