Replacement Legs and Industry Standard Rails to Mount a Reese M5 in a 2015 Ford F-350 Dually

Question:

I have a 2011 Ford F350 SRW with a Reese M5 hitch. I am considering upgrading to a 2015 Ford F350 DRW. Is my current hitch compatible?

The Reese M5 is extremely versatile so it will work but depending on your 2015 F-350's configuration you may need to change out the legs or add a rail kit. The new truck being a dually doesn't affect its compatibility.

If your 2011 Ford F-350 and 2015 Ford F-350 Dually both have the factory prep package that comes from Ford then yes they are compatible and you won't need to change any parts or settings.

If your 2015 Ford F-350 does not have the factory prep package then you will need the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches item # BWRVK2401.

There are a couple of replacement leg options as well for the Reese M5 if you are going from factory prep to base rails or base rails to factory prep. I have listed them below.

Ford Factory Prep - Replacement Legs for Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # RP30923

Industry Standard Rails - Replacement Legs for Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # RP30926

If your new F-350 doesn't have the factory prep package I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000. This harness puts a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck and allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This makes hooking up to your 5th wheel trailer easier and more convenient.
