How To Fit A Trailer Hitch Receiver and 4-Way Wiring To a 2017 Cadillac XT5 Platinum Trim

Question:

Looking to purchase a class 3 trailer hitch for a 2017 Cadillac XT5 Platinum Luxury. Would also like the 4 pin plug wiring. What do you recommend. I only use it to attach a carring tray for 2 small coolers most of the time, and twice a year I haul an ATV on a 5x10 single avle utility trailer. Thank you for you assistance

I have a way you can install a receiver on your 2017 Cadillac XT5 as currently the only custom fit trailer hitch receivers available will not fit the Platinum trim. To use the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e62AR on your XT5 you will need to swap out the Platinum lower trim panel for one of the removable trim panels found on the other models of the XT5. You will need to contact a dealer for these parts new or check with local salvage yards for the parts you need.

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118720 will give you a 4-way flat connector you will need for your single axle trailer. This will also allow you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 with your cargo tray in the event they impair the view of your tail lights. The Mounting Brackets # 18140 and # 18144 will allow you to secure the end of the 4-way to the receiver tube without drilling.
