Are Stability Plus Stabilizers Compatible With A 2022 Ford F-150 With CCD Suspension

Question:

Hello. Will these work on a 2022 Ford F-150 Limited with On-Board Scales and Continuously Controlled Dampening suspension? I tow a 2023 Keystone Cougar 22MLS with an Equalizer 4 point sway control hitch and I feel like I need something that’ll help with a little bit of sag. Does anyone make an air suspension system that’ll work on my truck given the options/features I have?

The Ford Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) system is simply a computer that adjusts the valves inside of your shocks to absorb road shock so it wouldn't be in the way and neither would the onboard scale feature. So yes, you could install the Stability Plus Stabilizer Helper Springs # SPS94FR (4WD) or the # SPS57FR (2WD).

These sit on your leaf springs, pulling them back for more support so you can end up with a stiffer ride when not hauling any weight since these can't be easily adjusted.

If you're already using an equalizer weight distribution hitch and you're still getting sag, then you either installed it wrong, have too low of a spring bar rating for your hitch, or are towing well above what your truck can handle.

Since the GVWR of a 2023 Keystone Cougar 22MLS is 7,200lbs you'd be looking at a tongue weight of roughly 720lbs-1000lbs. You can verify exactly what it is with a tongue weight scale # e99044.

If your hitch is rated for less then I recommend swapping the head with part # EQ90-02-1000 and the spring bars with part # EQ90-01-1099. A correctly rated WDH will make a world of difference in your ride quality and help clear up that sag.

At this time there is not a air bag suspension upgrade that is compatible with your F-150's CCD system.
