Hello, I have a Sundowner 40GN. It is a tri axle with 7,000 lb Lippert torsion axles. I am looking at installing Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers - 13 Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 7K Is that the right brake kit for that and will there be enough clearance between the frame and the tire? The HydraStar Disc Brake Kit item # HSE7K-TR1 can be used with triple axle trailers with 7,000 lbs Lippert Torsion Axles.

This kit is specifically made for 7,000 lbs axles and has every component you will need to complete your conversion. The hubs have an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. I have linked an installation video below so you can see the process.

I confirmed with my rep at HydraStar, this kit will fit 16" wheels.

The HydraStar Disc Brake kit uses a hub/rotor combination so your off set will stay the same as opposed to kits that use a rotor that slides onto a separate hub. You should have the same amount of clearance between the frame and the tire.

To confirm this will fit your axles you should verify that you have Inner Bearing item # 25580 (1.75" inner diameter), Outer Bearing item # 14125A (1.25" inner diameter) and a Grease Seal item # GS-2250DL (2.25" inner diameter). If you have the axle serial number or information from the axle tag I can verify that you do have all the correct components.
