Will the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunk Work On Outside Frame Rails
Question:
It looks like the swivel bunk brackets are all designed to mount to the crossmembers of a trailer frame. Can they be mounted to lengthwise members as well i.e. swivel action rotated 90 degrees from the mounting direction?

Expert Reply:
The CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks part # CE10003G-4 are designed to be mounted to the horizontal center sections of the trailer also know as crossmembers. These will not work when mounted to the vertical outside frame rails. The swivels would be in the wrong position and the bunk boards would tilt front to back and not side to side. They are designed to be used with the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers like part # CE27840.
