Does Hopkins Backup Sensor System Beep Faster When You Get Closer to Object

Question:

I have an older car 1971 Plymouth Barracuda with a small rear window and am looking for a backup sensor that will beep inside my car to let me know proximity when backing. Does this unit beep faster as you move closer to an object when backing up? Does the tone go solid when you are extremely close to an object? Does this have a beep outside of the vehicle? I hear commercial trucks beep loudly when they backup on the outside of their truck. I am not looking for that type of sound or volume inside the vehicle. Thank you for your help!

Good questions, and I I'll take them one by one for you regarding exactly how the beeping works with the Hopkins backup sensor, which is the following part number:

- Hopkins Backup Sensor System - Audible Alert - License Bracket Mount # HM60100VA

The # HM60100VA does beep faster as you get closer to an object; it has three zones, one from 5-1/2' to 3-1/2', then from 3-1/2' to 1-1/2', and then from 1-1/2' and closer. The beeps get more rapid as you enter the zones, but there is not a solid tone when you are extremely close to an object. As soon as you hear the third, most rapid beeping, you know you are within 1-1/2 feet of an object.

The beeping is also not outside the vehicle at all, it is entirely inside and isn't anywhere near as loud as a commercial truck, which you rightly stated would be way too loud. This is just a normal tone that you'll be able to hear inside your car, but won't wake up your neighbors.
