Do You Have To Drive To Wake Up Sensors On TST TPMS for RVs 507

Question:

I have a fifth wheel. If I install the TST 507 system and then park the trailer in storage fo a month. If I reconnect to the unit and turn my monitor on will it give me my tire pressures right away or do I need to move the unit to wake the sensors up? If i have a tire that the pressure is low I would want to know before I left.

Expert Reply:

In order to preserve battery life on the TST TPMS for RVs part # TST-507-FT-4-C, the sensors will shut down or turn off after inactivity. That said, they will automatically wake back up when you either let air out or put air into the tire or just simply drive a few feet. Therefore, if you want to see real-time pressure on the tire before your trip without moving the trailer you can simply press the stem in for a second to wake the sensors up.
