Recommended Pin Box Upgrade for a Lippert 1621 15,500 lbs Capacity Pin Box
Question:
I want to get a new king pin box. I am not sure what I need. I am thinking about just a standard pin box. The sticker on RV says-Lippert Component S/N 019-000234451 Item Number 1985441.

Thanks for the picture! I just spoke with my rep at Lippert and you currently have a 1621 pin box with a 15,500 lbs capacity. With this in mind we have a couple of options for you.
To simply replace the one you currently have with something similar to what comes from the factory you will want the Lippert 1621 5th Wheel Pin Box item # LC1191191. This pin box serves as a direct replacement for the worn or damaged Lippert 1621 pin box on your 5th-wheel trailer.
To upgrade your pin box for a more comfortable ride you will want the Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box item # LC328492. This pin box has an internal air bag and built-in strut the work with a rubberized pivoting head to reduce chucking and eliminate bouncing and jarring.
I saw you were looking at the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter item # RP85FR. This will adapt your 5th wheel to connect to a gooseneck ball instead of a 5th wheel hitch. The Goose Box is designed to absorb road shock for a smooth, stable ride. The internal air bag can be adjusted to give you just the right amount of support. If you choose this option you will also need the Tow Ready Safety Chain Kit with Clevis Hooks item # 49150.
