Question:
Can this be used in the reverse direction, taking a car with separate brake and turn systems and getting the trailer to have a combined Turn/Brake on the same filament?

I do have another product for you as the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # 118158 is only for going from a vehicle with combined tail lights to a vehicle being towed that has separate tail lights and turn signals.
The Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter # 119178 will connect to your car that has separate turn signals and brake lights and combines them to for the 2nd vehicle with combined tail light/turn signals. This has a 4-way flat connector like that is used on most trailers.
We also have the Upgraded Modulite Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 which has a powered converter. The power converter limits power draw on the vehicle wiring by drawing power from a separate power lead that connects to the battery.
