Does Tekonsha Primus IQ Drain Battery When Left Alone
Question:
I have a 94 Chevy g30 in my shop with this particular controller. There is a battery draw part of which is the radio but, the brake controller always has a single .In the display. Is this normal for this controller or, is it supposed to shut down when there is no trailer connected?

Expert Reply:
After several minutes the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller part # TK90160 does go into a sleep mode where it won't draw power any longer. This is very common on basically all brake controllers.
