Troubleshooting Brake Output and 12V Power Not Working at 7-Way on 1993 Chevy 3500

Question:

Trying to get trailer breaks and Ax power to trailer plug. I have traced down the problem with trailer break wire blue need new break controller i have power going in with nothing coming out. My question was I have a 3 way connection think is a isolator to the a power under the hood, with 1 red wire going over to the battery with what looks to one a fusible link that is gone or burt. The other small on is going inside the fire wall and the other big red one going to the trailer plug. I have attached photos ??

My recommendation is to run new wiring to solve the problems you are experiencing. It is difficult to say what that wiring is doing in your truck and where the problem lies. Installation of the Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506 would allow you to bypass all of that and connect directly to your battery.

This will give you a new 12V wire as well as a new brake output wire. It also comes with the necessary circuit breakers and, butt connectors, and ring terminals for installation. If you check out the video below you can see what the installation process is like.

If you need a replacement brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is a very reliable proportional brake controller you can count on. It features an automatic leveling ability and a limited lifetime warranty.
