Trouble Shooting Trailer Wiring Harness On A 2017 BMW X5 Right Turn/Brake Light Not Working
Question:
Item # C56190KIT I bought this kit a few years ago for my BMW X5. I’ve used it twice, now I have zero output to the right side turn/brake lights. Green wire input voltage is good, no resistance along the wire or damage. Is there something else to check?

With The Curt Powered Tail Light Converter Kit # C56190KIT having zero output to the right side turn/brake lights it sounds like you have a bad ground. Make sure the ground is attached to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface. You should also check out the main trailer connector ground and the pins on the vehicle and the trailer side 4-way connectors and make sure they're clean and free of corrosion.
There could also be something on the vehicle side wiring. The Hook Probe Circuit tester # PTW2993 can test brake signals on the 4-way connector and see if there is any power coming from the connector. If nothing shows up it could be a problem with the wiring on your vehicle, and would have to purchase a new harness.
