Is it possible to use a Gen-Y GH-1002 with the 10K 5inch receiver hitch instead of using the ball?

Yes, The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-323 can be used without using the ball mount. You can attach a bike rack or cargo carrier in the Gen Y Hitch.
The Gen Y Hitch has a heavy-duty steel construction, and has a zinc primer and powder coat finish that resists corrosion.
The tongue weight capacity is up to 1,500 pounds, and has a gross towing weight up to 10,000 pounds.
The etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98881 has a hardened steel construction that can ensure long-lasting dependability. The hitch lock is double chrome plated which offers a maximum rust resistance.
