Where To Connect The Ground Wiring From The 4 Pole Connector # 18004 On My Trailer
Question:
I have a trailer with a 4 pin connector. Im wondering what is the right way to connect the ground? Do I just connect the ground wire from the light locally to the trailer with a bolt? Or do I actually run ground wires through the trailer and have everything terminate in a single ground. In other words, each of the 4 lights will have ground wires going to a common ground, which is also where the white ground wire from the 4 pin connector would connect. I noticed one of your experts said But your best solution is going to be to run a ground wire back from each assembly.inch - I wonder why that is the case??

When installing The 4-Pole Trailer End Connector # 18004 the easiest way to attach the ground wire would be to attach the white wire to a clean, bare metal surface on the vehicle with a self tapping screw # 101131802, and adding a ring terimal # 44-5310A. A good ground location would be on the trailer frame or sheet metal that is not painted.
