Weight Distribution Recommendation for Travel Trailer with 4,500 lb GVWR
Question:
Good morning. I need some help in suggesting what weight distribution hitch with sway control would be best for my 2016 Ford Explorer Sport. I plan on towing a 22 long camper with a GVWR of around 4,500 lbs and a tongue weight of about 425 lbs. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you for all of the information!
For your application I recommend using the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR which has a tongue weight range of 200 lbs - 600 lbs so it is right in the wheelhouse of what you're needing. I like this system because it comes with everything you need plus the mounting brackets have some adjustability to account for different things that might be installed on your trailer tongue.
Please note that you'll want to shoot for a loaded tongue weight that's 10-15% the weight of your loaded trailer for best performance. So if you have your trailer fully loaded to 4,500 lbs then you want a tongue weight in the 450 - 675 lb range, but obviously trying to avoid going over that 600 lb max capacity of the weight distribution system.
Attached is a review video for the TrackPro as well as a link to our weight distribution FAQs for you to check out.
