Deflate Button Leaking on an Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System on a 2007 Dodge Dakota
Question:
I just installed the Load Controller system and air bags on my truck and the air release valve is leaking. How do I fix this, or do I need a new control panel.

The release valve leaking on your Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System, # AL25592, is most likely related to adjustment of the Schrader valve that the button is installed on. The button is threaded onto a standard Schrader valve just like a cap is threaded onto the Schrader valve that is installed in the wheel of your truck for adding air to the tires. This leak can be fixed easily, and you will not need a new control panel.
You will need to use a 1/2 inch wrench to loosen the nut at the back of the deflate button then unscrew the release button on the front of the panel assembly. once you have the deflate button removed you can adjust the nut on the back of the panel so that less of the Schrader valve is sticking through the front of the panel. Replace the deflate button and test with soapy water for leaks.
If you still have a leak readjust until the release button no longer touches the pin inside the Schrader valve causing the leak.
