Does The Pilot Light Need To Be Turned Off On An RV Water Heater While Refueling Tow Vehicle
Question:
Im interested in this as a replacement for my existing WH-6GEA, but Ive always wondered about something. Is it recommended to shut off the pilot light before refueling?

Expert Reply:
The pilot light would be covered enough by components/door of the water heater to not have to worry about it igniting the gasoline while refueling unless you were directly spraying gas on door of the water heater.
The Dometic RV Water Heater - Gas and Electric - Automatic Pilot - 120 Volt - 10,000 Btu - 6 Gal Tank # DMC74FR is a WH-6GEA model so it would be a correct replacement for your current water heater.
