Troubleshooting A Nose Up Situation While Towing A 2018 KZ Sportsmen 231RK 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I have a ford F250 SD and a KZ 231RK Sportsmen Fithwheel. I have a nose up towing situation. Do you sell lift kits for the tandem axels that will correct this situation? Can I put larger wheels and tires to also lift the trailer?

First I recommend checking your 5th wheel hitch to see if you can lower the hitch head height to lower the nose. If this isn't an option then you could look into raising the pin box if you have enough bolt holes on the mounting ears.

If neither of these can be done then you can install a Dexter Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00 (for 2-3/8" axles) or # K71-385-00 (for 3" axles) if you have underslung double-eye leaf springs. This will raise your trailer's height by the diameter of your axles.

Since you have a tandem axle trailer you'd need two kits to complete the lift. Lifting your trailer can cause some stability issues since the manufacturer didn't design the trailer to be lifted. To strengthen your trailer's stability I recommend also installing the the MORryde X-Factor Crossmember for Standard Frame Hangers # MR33WR on each hanger.

Adding larger tires would technically raise you a bit but you'd possibly run into clearance issues with the wheel wells and wouldn't be a great solution.
