Recommended 7-Way Harness and Brake Controller for a 2019 Ford Edge w/ 4-Flat Connector
Question:
I have a 2019 Ford Edge WITH factory tow package but no 7-way connector or an adapter for a brake controller. It doesn't appear that there is a hard wire brake controller with 7-pin connector available for my application. Seems strange. I would like a hardwired brake controller not a wireless one and a 7-way connector to control my trailer brakes.

To add a 7-Way vehicle connector to your 2019 Ford Edge, I recommend the the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
You are correct there is no plug in adapter for your Edge so you will need to hardwire one in. I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller item # RED24FR. This is a proportional brake controller that activates your trailer's brakes when your Edge decelerates. It has a unique installation method where the only visible portion is the control knob that's about the size of a nickel. The main unit is hidden away inside your dash to be completely out of the way and out of sight.
To complete the installation you will need the Universal Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED69FR.
