Drop Ball Mount Recommendation To Easily Switch Out 3 Different Hitch Ball Sizes

Question:

Is it possible to change the ball on this ball mount? I want an adjustable ball mount with only a single ball at a time. I see no need to have an additional ball hanging down reducing ground clearance, or to one side on a 3 ball mount. What if the ball was damaged in some way? I also do not like the looks of multiple balls on a single mount.

The best solution we have for you is the Blue Ox Adjustable Ball Mount with Clamshell for 2-1/2" Hitch - 4" Drop/Rise # BLU89XR has a fixed 2" hitch ball on the ball mount but there is a clamshell attachment that gives you the ability to fit it with a 2-5/16" trailer coupler as well - so this ball mount essentially comes with a 2" and a 2-5/16" hitch ball and does not reduce your ground clearance under where the hitch ball is attached.

Aside from this you're looking at a tri-ball mount like the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10048B which does have either the 2" or 2-5/16" hitch ball hanging lower while towing, but those hitch ball sizes are typically used for larger trailers where clearance is less of a problem. The 1-7/8" hitch ball doesn't have one opposite of it which makes sense since it's designed for smaller trailers.
