Width of Fastway/Equal-i-zer Sway Brackets For Positioning Weight Distribution Hitch
Question:
The instructions for the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW Item # FA92-00-0600 say to mount the plates on the frame 27-30 inches from the center of the ball. My propane tray and some wiring doesnt allow for 30inch but I may be able to squeeze it into 27inch depending on the width of the plates that get clamped to the frame. How wide are they?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The link plate on the Sway-Control Bracket # EQ95-01-5600 is 1-1/2" wide(see image). The good news is in the event it is too big you can reposition the Propane Tank Pan # 37207-31535 on your trailer if it needs moved. You will have self taping bolts from the pan into the frame that you can use to reposition the pan allow you to install the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600 on your trailer.
You will need either a 2" Ball # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" Ball # EQ91-00-6100 to match your trailer coupler. A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install the hitch ball.
