How to Determine the Correct 2 inch Ball Mount for My 09 Volkswagen Toureg?
Question:

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Ball Mount 3/4 inch Rise or 2 inch Drop, 6,000 lbs, item # D-4, is the recommended ball mount for your 2009 Volkswagen Toureg.
The best way to determine the correct ball mount for your vehicle and trailer combination is to measure from the ground to the top of the receiver tube on the vehicle, and from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler, with the trailer level. If the hitch height is greater you will need a ball mount with a drop equal to the difference and if the trailer coupler height is greater you will need a ball mount with a rise equal to the difference. You will also need to make sure the ball mount selected has a weight rating high enough for the trailer you will be towing.
Some items you may also need are listed below.
Hitch Ball # 19260 or 19247
Pin and Clip # PC3
Hitch Lock # e98880
