Fitment of Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR with Winnebago View Motorhome with Rear Ladder
Question:
I am interested in the bike rack #HLY84FR. I have a Winnebago View, which has a ladder on the back on the right side. From the face of the hitch to the outside edge of the ladder, it is 5-3/4. I am concerned that this is going to be an interference or create a rubbing problem with a bike ordinary standard size. I can send a photo and a sketch if that would help. What do you think?

There is a way that you can determine for sure of the Sport Rider SE # HLY84FR interferes with a bike that is mounted in the front position. First off, it is important to know that the closest wheel hoop is 7-1/2" from the center of the hitch pinhole (when in the folded down position). Also, in the folded up position, the # HLY84FR front wheel loop measures only 5 inches from the center of the hitch pinhole.
The way you can know whether a bike can fit in the front position with the rack folded down is to create a vertical imaginary line in the center of your hitch. From there, center your standard-size bike on that imaginary line (should be at about the center of the bike's frame). If any part of the front or rear tire interferes with the ladder when at the distance of 7-1/2" from the center of the pinhole, you won't have enough shank length with the rack.
If you find that you need more shank length, you can always add a hitch extender like the 8" etrailer Extender # e88YR. If you go this route, I recommend also purchasing the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061 for extra snugness on the receiver with the added length. This will deter motion when your Winnebago View hits bumps or potholes. It is important to note that using the # e88YR decreases your overall hitch capacity by 50%.
I went ahead and attached some helpful videos for your convenience.
