Can A 6,500lb Blue Ox Tow Bar Pull A 5,600lb Jeep Gladiator
Question:
Does a 6500 lb capacity Blue Ox tow bar have enough reserve capacity to pull a 5600 lb Jeep Gladiator, or do I need a 10,000 lb tow bar? Is 15 reserve adequate for safety? Thanks,

Typically, manufacturers recommend only using 80-85% of the total capacity, which would put you over by 75lbs. While the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7380 can technically be used for your Gladiator, out of an abundance of caution, I recommend sizing up to the Blue Ox Ascent Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX4370 to ensure you stay under 85% capacity and have that 15%+ buffer zone.
