Parts Needed to Add 5-Way to 2017 Porsche Macan
Question:
I just bought this 2017 Macan, and it has a trailer hitch on it that I need, but the wiring is in the spare tire holder and is only 4pin. My trailer has trailer brakes and has a 5 pin connector 4 male and 1 female on it. I think it is unlikely that Porsche did this install and put the wiring in the spare tire compartment to feed out through the rear hatch. What do I need to properly wire this for a 5 pin connector?

It is not uncommon for a 4-way like the # 119250KIT to be stored in the rear hatch and hang down over the top of the rear bumper. Although it may not be not ideal, sometimes it is necessary and the best option for installation.
It looks like we did an installation on a 2017 Porsche Cayenne where we were able to feed the 4-way down to stick out underneath the rear bumper. Your 2017 Porsche Macan is not exactly the same, but that is likely that you can do the same. I recommend checking with a local dealer to see if they know if it is possible.
Since you already have a 4-way installed the only thing you will need to do is add a 5-way adapter like the Curt # C57187. Your existing 4-way will plug into the adapter and you will need to run the additional wire to the reverse light circuit on your Macan. Once this is done you will be able to power the signal lights and electric lockout on your trailer.
I have attached some installation videos for your reference.
