Is License Plate Relocation Kit Needed if Cargo Carrier on 2002 Ford Explorer Blocks License Plate
Question:
2002 Ford Explorer When loaded with the cargo I intend to carry, my license plate is not quite visable from the rear. Do I need to remove the plate from vehicle and temporarily mount it on the carrier, or is a duplicate advisable.

It would be a good idea to get a license plate mounting bracket and attach it to the cargo carrier, especially if it is required by law in your area. A duplicate plate should not be required since removing the plate from the back of your 2002 Ford Explorer should just involve a couple of screws.
For a bracket we have several options but I would go with # PM436B. This is a bracket and light. The light will need to wire into the running light circuit from a trailer connector. If your Explorer does not have a factory 4 or 7-Way wiring harness then you can add a 4-Way using # 118344.
