SumoSprings or Timbren on a 2020 Ford F-350? Which is Better for a 5th Wheel Trailer?

Question:

I’m contemplating adding these to my 2020 F350 to help with squat caused by the 5th. It seems to me that they will reduce the squat but not eliminate it. The rubber sits 1” or so off the axle and when the load is applied the suspension will squat until the rubber meets the axle and compresses enough to prevent additional squat. If my reasoning is good about how these things work how much of the squat would be eliminated?. I have about 3100# on my pin at present and would like a little more level ride. What about SumoSprings, would that be a better choice? I used air helpers on my old truck, and they constantly leaked, so Im not interested in repeating that experience...

I always recommend SumoSprings over Timbrens for any vehicle that is not being used as a work truck. SumoSprings have two mounting points that only come together when a heavy load is placed on them. Timbrens will affect your daily driving and will give your rear end a bouncy stiff feeling when you are not towing. For your 2020 Ford F-350 you will want the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-128-47-2. You will want to confirm your truck has a bump stop perch over the axle. If you do not have the perch you will need the item # SSR-129-47-2. Both of this kits have a 5,000 lbs capacity. These systems are compatible with in bed hitches.
