Solution for 40 Hitch Extension on 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 Classic Dually With Truck Bed Camper

Question:

I have a 2007 GMC 3500 Sierra Classic Dually. I've recently bought a truck camper, I need a 40 extension to pull my boat. What products do you have that will allow me to accomplish this?

For a 40" extension on your 2007 Sierra 3500 Dually you could use the Titan Hitch Box Extension # RP45018. This hitch extender comes at the full 48" length and can be cut down to 41". At That length it would have a max gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and tongue weight of 500 lbs. This fits a 2-1/2" receiver and reduces it down to 2". It is also possible to use weight distribution with this extension. Keep in mind, this may not work on some OEM Class V hitches with round edges.

If you do not have a 2-1/2" hitch then you would need to add one like the # TLC1205-30. If you added the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch Receiver you would also have the option to use the 42" long TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1542. This is also compatible with weight distribution and has a slightly higher capacity.
