Best Replacement 7-Pin Trailer Connector Option for Travel Trailer
Question:
I’m currently traveling with my trailer and f150 towing. I’m having issues with the trailer umbilical cord,7 pin, not making good contact with the brake pin. What umbilical cord do you sell that will work well with Ford F-150. I only need the trailer cord. I don’t plan on replacing the plug on the truck. I’ve had this problem off and on an after fudging the prongs a bit on the cord it’ll work temporarily. I don’t think my umbilical cord matches well with ford. Thanks

If you're having problems with the trailer connector contacts on the trailer then it's best to replace this. I recommend Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit part # HS381-9000 since it comes with a new junction box and sealed wire lead with connector. If you already have a junction box you can simply just use this as a replacement or if you don't you just need to find a spot to mount the new one and attach a few wires is all. The sealed wire lead and junction box will ensure you don't have reliability issues and it makes troubleshooting very easy.
