Best Weight Distribution Hitch for a Big Tex 14ET-22 Trailer

Question:

Hi. I just got a Big Tex 14ET-22 bumper pull trailer and need a weight distribution hitch for my Ram 2500. The Blue Ox BXW1275 has the right tongue weight for my tractor, will be between 800-1150 lbs, depending on what attachments I carry. Will this Blue Ox fit on a 6inch C channel trailer frame? Thanks.

Yes, the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6-Hole Shank item # BLU75FR will work with a 6" C channel trailer frame like the one on your Big Tex 14ET-22. This system only has 2 point sway control and is the lowest model Blue Ox offers so you shouldn't have high expectations for it. With the weight of your trailer you will still experience a decent amount of sway. Instead, I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW item # EQ37120ET. This system has identical capabilities for both maximum capacity and tongue weight range. It is also compatible with your 6" C channel frame. The main difference in this system is the more durable hitch head and better performing sway control. The Equal-i-zer is also made in the USA.
