Troubleshooting Hopkins Agility Brake Controller Install on a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500
Question:
I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Work truck that has a towing mode for transmission. I purchased the aforementioned parts installed per instructions red wire to D slot for unit and connector. Install a 40 amp fuse in fuse box under hood. Connected the negative cable to the battery and did not have any display or red light on the unit. I checked my 7 way trailer plug with headlights, brake depressed and signal lights respectfully. I have all working but the trailer brake #3 tab. After reading some of the QandA here I found the disconnected blue wire under the hood. Red ring terminal is connected on Stud #1 where I put the 40 amp fuse recommended. Not sure how to get power to the unit so I can pull my new travel trailer that has electric brakes. luckily my son use his truck to pickup trailer from dealership. Any help would be appreciated.

I have linked an installation video below for a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 installation on a similar 2003 Silverado 1500. The process is identical to installing a Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller 42794 with the Adapter HM47795. It sounds like you connected the power wire for the charge line and not the 2nd power wire for the brake controller.
