Can Yakima SkyBox 18 Cargo Box Remain on Vehicle When Empty

Can this remain on roof rack with little or no load in box?

According to my Yakima representative, it is perfectly fine to leave the # Y07336 SkyBox 18 on the roof when it is empty. The box is rock-solid, and will not depend on any weight in it to provide stability. However, keep in mind that leaving the box on the vehicle when it is not needed will have negative effects on your fuel economy.
