What is the difference between Atwood 82540 and Atwood 84132? Also, what is currently the best replacement for Atwood 82540?

From what I can find the only difference is the color (Atwood is out of business and these actuators have long been discontinued), and the best replacement for your actuator is one from Dexter. It is a 7,500 lb actuator that mounts to a 3" wide channel tongue and latches to a 2" hitch ball, just like the Atwood actuators. The correct part number is the following:

- Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-00

The # 099-175-00 is called "Drop-N-Go" because that's all that you need to do when hitching up; it automatically latches onto your hitch ball so you can just drop it on and be on your way.
