Question:
I have a 2014 Forest River Forester class C motorhome 25 foot on the Ford E450 super duty platform v10 engine. It has a seven pin round trailer connector. What is the best brake controller for this tow vehicle and the roadmaster tow dolly. Please list all items needed to make the dollys electric brakes work. Since you have the factory 7-way on your 2014 Forest River Forester motorhome, all you'll need is the brake controller and plug-in harness, and the easiest to use option for that is the Assure from Curt. The correct part number, as well as the harness for your motorhome is the following:
- Curt Assure Trailer Brake Controller # C49UR
- Curt Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # C51432
The Assure is proportional like you wanted so you have a more comfortable, safe towing experience. Along with that, it stands out because of its large OLED screen that makes it really easy to use and understand. It also has continual diagnostic checks with safeguards to prevent battery drain or shorts.
This is exactly what you'll need to activate the electric brakes of the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes - 4,250 lbs # RM-2050-1.
The only other thing you will need is a 7-way plug that connects to the wires on the dolly, the Pollak Black Plastic, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Trailer End # PK12706.
