Parts Needed To Transfer Lighting Signals While Triple Towing An RV And Boat Trailer

Question:

I need a combination plug to fit a 2012 Ram 2500 that I can plug both the 7 wire RV leed and a 4 Flat for a boat trailer. Current plug on truck will not allow me to plug both at the same time. Would also need advice on if I will have to increase voltage/breaker as the Rv has trailer brakes and the boat does not. Rv is a tandem axle and boat is a single axle

To triple tow you wouldn't be running both connectors to your Ram. You would connect the RV's 7-pole to your Ram and then connect the boat trailer to a connector on the RV.

Since you just need lights for the boat trailer you'll just need a 4-pole connector # HM38138, some heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10, and some additional wire for length.

You'll splice in the 4-pole connector to the lights on the rear of your RV to transfer your lighting signals from the RV to the boat trailer. Typically you can remove the light to get to the wiring easily and then run the wires directly down through the wall to the bottom of the trailer and then mount the connector onto the frame or bumper using a mount like # 18144.

You won't need to boost the voltage to transfer the lighting signals to your boat trailer.
