According to the manufacturer the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K could be installed on a side wall versus the roof as far as functionality is concerned. But the manufacturer does not recommend the # MA00-06401K be installed on a wall and will not warranty it. You run the risk of condensation running down the wall and getting sucked into the fan as well as rain water.
Other things to consider would be that you would need to make sure the hole is the correct size, to include depth of the wall (you can add wood if needed to increase depth). You could potentially experience some issues with the lid since it is not designed to be in that position and you would want to be cognizant of wind drag differences and how far the fan would sit off the side of your trailer.
