The weatherstrip on the Solera 14' Replacement Awning Fabric - Sand Fade w/ White Weatherstrip # LCV000334376 is the black section closest to the trailer that you see in the linked installation video. Basically the closer part of the awning takes the most stress when it comes to rain and such to this part is thicker and more durable than the rest of the awning to deal with this extra stress. It also helps to protect the awning fabric when it's rolled up in the stored position.
