What is the Shank Part on a Hitch Receiver Cover

Question:

You were almost correct in your assumption. Im looking for the 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch brake light, NOT the 2 inch.

The shank would be the piece that you insert into the hitch receiver. So for a hitch cover like the Star Wars Darth Vader Trailer Hitch Cover # PC002282R01, there are 2 different shank options you can place the Darth Vader cover piece on so it will fit whether your vehicle has a 1-1/4" or a 2" square receiver.

It looks like you were looking for a light up hitch cover so I recommend checking out the Pilot # CR-007 which is a simple square design that fits a 2" receiver and plugs into a standard 4-Way wiring connection on your vehicle. I'm also linking our selection of lighted hitch covers for you to filter through.

Thank you for the feedback! The only lighted hitch cover we currently carry that fit's directly to a 1-1/4" receiver is the Skull with L.E.D. Eyes Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover # CR-018. If you'd rather go with something that's a little more simple like the one I mentioned in my first response, part # CR-007, then you can still do so but you need an adapter like the etrailer # e43YR which will expand the 1-1/4" receiver up to a 2" receiver.
