Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring Harness for 2021 Toyota Highlander

For a great hitch that fits your 2021 Toyota Highlander I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR. This custom fit Class III hitch has a 2" receiver and a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs. It also has a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible at the back of your vehicle. What sets this hitch apart is the matte black powder coat finish. This gives it more of an OEM look and does a better job hiding dirt and scratches when compared to a glossy finish.

For wiring, we have a few different options depending on your vehicle and what you need. I recommend Tekonsha for all of these options since we have found them to be the most reliable when it comes to wiring. If you only want to add a 4-way and do not have the tow package then you need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK99FR. If you do have the tow package then you will want the # TK74FR instead.

If you want to add a 7-way to your Highlander then you can use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK57VR. If you would still like the option to use a 4-way all you need is an adapter like the # PK12716.

In order to complete your setup you will also need a ball mount. Check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
