Saris SuperClamp EX or Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Which is Better?
Question:
Hello, we currently own a Hollywood Sports Rider SE 4 that we bought from etrailer at the end of 2015. It has been a great rack but can be difficult to mount the bikes onto. We are looking fora replacement that is sturdy, easier to load, and if possible gives us an open view from the backup camera. We have narrowed it down to the Saris Superclamp 4 bike hitch and the Kuat transfer 3+1. We usually haul four bikes but sometimes take only 2 which is why the Kuat seemed like a nice option but it also seems like it extends further than the Saris. Do you have a suggestion for which bike rack would be better? Thanks in advance

Between the Saris SuperClamp EX 4 Bike Platform Rack item # SA4026F and the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack item # KU24FR, I would go with the Kuat because it will better suit your needs. The Kuat is 12lbs lighter (without add-on) and will be much easier to remove or install on your vehicle than the Saris. This will also be a less expensive setup. You are correct the Kuat will stick out farther than the Saris especially after you attach the add on. As far as your back up camera goes it will depend entirely on where it is mounted. The Kuat is less bulky and more spread out so there is a better chance for improved vision through the wider openings when it is folded up. I have linked a couple of review videos below that will go over functions and installation for both racks.
You will also need the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Racks item # KU57FR.
