Roof Mount Cargo Bag for a 2010 GMC Terrain with Factory Side Rails that Run Front to Back
Question:
I OWN A 2010 GMC TERRAIN I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A ROOF TOP CARGO/LUGGAGE CARRIER FOR A PLANNED TRIP WITHOUT HAVING TO PURCHASE CROSSBARS . CAN I USE THIS CARRIER WITH JUST THE EXISTING FACTORY FRONT TO BACK SIDE BARS ON THE VEHICLE? WILL IT SLIP FORWARD OR BACKWARD?

We have several cargo bags that will fit a roof that just has the side rails that run front to back. However, bag # HE3021 is not one of them. I have included a link to the bags that you can use. For a comparable bag that has the same 15 cubic feet of space and that you can use I recommend Rightline bag # RL100A20.
You can expect some movement of the bag since you do not have crossbars to hold it in place during starts and stops. To protect the roof and minimize movement I recommend the non-skid protective pad, # RL100650.
Be sure to consult the vehicle owners manual or a GM dealer for the roof weight capacity before loading anything on the roof.
