Weight Distribution Systems With Sway Compatible With V-Nose Enclosed Trailers
Question:
I am looking at the 10,000 lbs Equal-i-zer hitch. I have a question about mounting the “L” brackets on the trailer frame. In their manual it states mounting them from 27”-32” back from the coupler. I am looking at using this hitch on an enclosed snowmobile trailer and I do not have that space available. I wanted to see if there was a usable MIN distance shorter than 27”. Hoping you might be able to help me.

I do have a recommendation for you since the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET will only work with a measurement of 27"-32" for the sway brackets from the trailer coupler. If you are set on using the Equal-i-zer you are allowed to weld on the outer link bracket and cut the L-bracket so that it will fit at the correct length of your frame.
If you do not want to weld brackets to your frame the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66084 can be used with the Chain Hangers # RP58305. The hangers will require you to drill through your frame to hold them in place.
