Best Way to Carry 4 Bikes While Flat Towing a 2019 Ford Fusion
Question:
Any recommendations for a bike rack? I have a 2019 coachmen Mirada towing a 2019 fusion with roadmaster tow bar. I have a hitch, is it possible to use a bike rack? looking at clearance. or should I use a 2-bike rack on tow vehicle and 2 on hitch? or any other ideas? At the moment I have a trunk mounted bike rack for the Ford Fusion.

We definitely have hitch mount bike racks that can hold up to 4 bikes and have been approved for a flat-towed vehicle so I recommend going that route as it would be easiest. I do have to say you'll want to make sure you have a Class II hitch like the Curt # C12091 or a hitch with a 2" receiver like the EcoHitch # 306-X7239 as a Class I hitch isn't strong enough to carry 4 bikes.
Now that we know your hitch is strong enough I recommend checking out the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack # Y02458 because it comes with a rack lock (you can add one for the bikes with part # Y02466), has a weight capacity of 150 lbs (so 37.5 lbs per bike), and it will fit either (Class II) 1-1/4" or 2" receivers so you can use it for a variety of applications.
Some additional parts you might need are the Adapter Bar # Y02531 for any kid bikes or bikes that don't have a horizontal top tube, and then the PlateMate # Y02713 to keep from having your license plate hidden behind all of the bikes.
