Connecting My Furrion Camera To My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71
Question:
I have a 2019 Chevy 1500 Z71 trim level LTZ and a 2021 Pioneer R210 Camper Trailer that has a preinstalled mount on the rear of the RV to install a Furrion back up camera. I am unable to get the camera to pair with the screen. Camping World tried to get it to pair for two hours, checking wires switching out units etc. The camera mount is pre-spliced by the factory to the rear running lights and takes power from there. We can get the unit to pair on its own but when plugged into the trucks 7-pin RV it will not pair. By disconnecting the trailer 7-pin from the tuck and applying power to the two pins that work the running lights we were able to get it to pair. Camping World said it must be a problem with the truck, either the computer sensors or not enough voltage to the camera. I did notice that at one point I was getting all kinds of error messages in the truck, left light out, right light out etc. When I saw on your web site Item #20142 a 7-pin bypass which seems like it could maybe solve my issue but in reading the reviews I am concerned it might also disable my electric brakes and cause other issue with my hook up. Finally the above item is out of stock and etrailer sent this note While processing your order, I noticed your order is estimated to ship the week of May 30 due to the trailer wiring 20142. I do have HM47425 in stock to ship out immediately: If this is the fix would that item HM47425 work as well? Have you ever heard of this issue and is this a solution? Thanks,

I spoke with a representative from Furrion and they indicated this issue occurs with newer Chevrolet and GMC trucks. They have a fix for this issue, 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter w/ Power Switch for Furrion RV Observation Camera, part # FR87PR.
The Trailer Connector Adapter - Vehicle End - 7-Pole Round to 7-Way Blade, part # HM47425, will not work. This adapter does not have the male and female ends of the 7-way blade, so it will not connect to your vehicle's 7-way connector.
